The guide rod is sticking out of the front when the slide is forward, and when the slide is locked backwards the rod is canted to the side resting on the grip module. My thumb tends to ride it a little and it has gotten snagged on clothes a couple time during my draw stroke. I called Sig and was told they do not have anything lower profile for it at this time.

The slide on the 250 and 320 in compact are the same length. I haven't tried putting the 250 barrel in the 320 slide yet. It may fit, but I don't know how it would wear in the long run.
